A POETRY OF ACRYLICS, FABRICS AND LACES
fabric of oneness
In the tender embrace of needle and thread, Fabrics murmur tales of fleeting division
Fragile laces, rough burlaps & fleeting nets yet stitched as one, they sing of harmony.
These paintings, built with poetry, acrylics, and laces are my offering to Advaita Vedanta’s truth:
A vision where “All this is indeed Brahman”, a journey from shadows of self to boundless light.
Florals rise, thick with impasto’s breath, Like souls blooming into their infinite nature.
Textures clash and blend, a dance of form, Echoing life’s weave of chaos and calm.
Where devotion stitches the divine to the everyday,
And every stroke celebrates the unity beneath the veil.
The Paintings
These are Mixed-Media paintings featuring a fusion of textile collage and acrylic impasto techniques.
Size of the painting is 10″x11″ & measure 16″x17″ with frames, including a 3-inch border on each side.

My Inspiration Behind The Paintings

My inspiration for this series comes from spirituality, interpreted through the lens of Advaita Vedanta—a philosophy that emphasizes the non-dual nature of existence and the unity of all things.
The layered fabrics in the paintings represent the perceived separations and diversity of the world, while the bold, blooming florals symbolize the awakening to a deeper truth: that all existence is interconnected.
For me, devotion isn’t about worshiping something external; it’s about recognizing the divine within ourselves and everything around us.

The Story Behind The Paintings

When I started these paintings, I envisioned a disconnected world—a fragmented reality reflected in the collage of fabrics. Each material—lace, burlap, net—stands apart with its own texture and character, much like the divisions we perceive in life.
The stitches I added are subtle threads of connection, hinting at the unity beneath the surface. Then, I painted the three florals on top with thick, impasto strokes with a palette-knife, letting them bloom as symbols of a higher being or consciousness—the moment when the illusion of separation fades, and the oneness of all things comes into focus.
The emotion I want to portray is that journey: from feeling isolated and disjointed to discovering a profound sense of connection and peace. The neutral tones of the fabrics create a quiet, grounded backdrop, while the vibrant florals burst forth like revelations.
Through these paintings, I hope to share that experience of devotion—not as a distant ideal, but as an intimate recognition of the divine thread running through us all.
