Since 2016, I’ve had the privilege of teaching nearly 30,000 students worldwide, encouraging artists to trust their intuition and create fearlessly.

The inspiration behind this class
For a very long time, I believed that art had to look “perfect.” I painted polished artworks because that was what I thought paintings were supposed to look like.
But what I was always drawn to—quietly and privately—was something very different. Torn edges. Rough textures. Worn surfaces. I loved grunge, but I was afraid of it. I believed that kind of rawness wasn’t real art.
As I spent more time listening to myself and working intuitively, I realized that what I truly enjoy is the imperfect—the wear and tear, the roughness, the honesty of layered textures.
Grunge gave me permission to stop trying to make things look right and start making them feel real.
