What if you don't need to fix yourself to feel whole?

We all carry marks. Things that happened to us. Things we were taught. Things we believe about ourselves. Things we love. Things we lost. Things we had to let go of. They become layersAnd sometimes, underneath everything, we can feel a little fragmented.

Wholeness is an invitation to explore that feeling through art. We will make marks. Layer them. Tear them apart. Release them. Choose what remains. Bring the fragments back together.

And somewhere in that process, you may begin to experience something beautiful:

You don’t have to erase the broken parts to become whole.

But what if wholeness isn’t about fixing those parts?

🤍 This is much more than a collage class

Wholeness is an intuitive mark making journey through:

MARK → TEAR → RELEASE → REASSEMBLE → NEW MARKS → WHOLENESS

You will make marks without knowing exactly where they are going.

You will layer. You will cover. You will change your mind.

You will tear apart something you created.

You will choose what you want to keep.

You will let go of what you don’t.

And then—

you will create again from what remains.

🖐️ Trust Your Hands

You don’t always have to know where you’re going.

Sometimes your hands can find the way before your mind does.

What You'll Create

Throughout the journey you’ll create:

  • Your own collection of painted papers
  • Expressive and intuitive mark making
  • Fragments created through tearing
  • A finished mixed media collage
  • A personal visual language
  • An artwork that carries the history of your choices

But the most important thing you may create is something you can’t put on a supply list:

A new relationship with your own creativity.

Hi, I'm Debasree...

… your guide on this mixed-media art journey

After a decade in the IT corporate world, I returned to art and found healing in collage — the quiet joy of bringing fragments together to create something whole. It became a way to slow down, listen inward, and express without needing words.

Since 2016, I’ve had the privilege of teaching nearly 30,000 students worldwide, encouraging artists to trust their intuition and create fearlessly.

My classes are gentle, tactile, and rooted in the belief that creativity should feel calming, soulful, and deeply personal.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply looking to reconnect with your creativity, I’m here to guide you through an experience that nourishes both your hands and your heart.

Over 30,000 students have joined my classes. Here's what a few have said:

I didn’t realise how much I needed permission to make something without trying to make it perfect. This class gave me that.”

The tearing was the hardest part for me. I was so attached to what I had made. But once I started putting the pieces back together, I understood the process differently. I wasn’t destroying anything. I was giving it another life.”

Wholeness changed the way I approach my art. I stopped looking for the right answer and started trusting my own eye. I found myself making choices much more freely.”

The inspiration behind this class

I created Wholeness from something I experienced through my own art practice. When I make marks, tear the papers apart, and then bring the fragments back together through collage, I experience a sense of release.

Somehow, putting those pieces back together also feels like bringing fragmented parts of myself back together.

The tears and fragments don’t disappear. They become part of the new artwork. And I find something really beautiful in that — the feeling that I don’t have to erase or fix everything to feel whole. I created this class because I wanted to share that experience with you.

I want you to explore what happens when you make, release, rearrange and reconnect

— and discover your own sense of wholeness through the process of making art.

What you may discover in this class

Through this mark making art class, you may discover:

  • You don’t have to be perfect to create something beautiful.
  • You can change your mind without ruining everything.
  • You can let go without losing everything.
  • You can choose what you want to carry forward.
  • You can make something new from what remains.
  • You can allow your past layers to exist without letting them determine your next mark.
  • You can trust your own response instead of searching for the “right” answer.
  • You can see beauty in places you once considered broken.

And perhaps most importantly:

You can begin to experience yourself as whole—even with the fragments still visible.

🌸 THIS IS FOR YOU IF...

You don’t need to consider yourself an artist.

You don’t need experience with mixed media collage.

You don’t need to know anything about abstract mark making.

You simply need curiosity.

This class may be for you if:

  • You want to create more intuitively.
  • You struggle with perfectionism.
  • You overthink your creative decisions.
  • You find it difficult to let go of something you’ve made.
  • You want to reconnect with your creative self.
  • You feel drawn to mixed media collage.
  • You want to experiment with painting your own collage papers.
  • You want to explore expressive mark making.
  • You are curious about what happens when you allow brokenness to become part of the beauty.

Nothing disappears. It becomes something else.

The marks, the fragments, the layers—all of them can belong to the new whole.

You’re starting with a blank page.

Then you’ll make something.

You’ll love some parts.

Question some parts.

Tear some parts.

Release some parts.

Keep some parts.

Reconnect some parts.

And create again.

Just like life, the final piece doesn’t erase what happened before.

It carries it.

Your Marks Belong.

Your fragments belong.

Your imperfect edges belong.

The layers belong.

The things you’ve changed belong.

The things you’ve released belong.

You belong.

And maybe, through this process of mark making, tearing and rebuilding, you’ll experience that truth—not as an idea, but as something you can see and touch in the artwork you’ve created.

🛒 Ready to Begin?

You don’t need another class that tells you how to make “good” art.

You need permission to make, let go, and begin again.

Inside Wholeness, you’ll explore:

  • Intuitive mark making
  • Tearing, releasing & choosing
  • Mixed media collage to bring the fragments together

❓Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions? Great – I've got answers for you!

Do I need to be an artist to take Wholeness?

Not at all. You don’t need drawing or collage experience. This is an intuitive process, so there is no “right” way to make your marks.

What will I create?

You’ll create your own painted papers, tear them into fragments, and bring them back together through mixed media collage, layering and new mark making.

Do I need to know how to do collage?

No. I’ll guide you through the process step by step. You don’t need to know what you’re making before you begin.

What materials do I need?

You’ll work with simple materials such as paper, paint and mark-making tools. You can also bring in fabric, stitching, lace, gauze and other materials as you explore your piece.

What if I don’t like what I create?

That’s actually part of the process. Wholeness isn’t about getting it right the first time. You’ll learn to change, tear, rearrange and respond to what emerges.

Is this an art class or a healing class?

Wholeness is an art class with a deeper reflective journey woven into the creative process. The making becomes a way to explore release, choice, reconnection and the idea of creating something whole from fragments. It isn’t a substitute for therapy or mental-health treatment.

What if I’m a perfectionist?

Then you may find this process especially interesting. You’ll practice making imperfect marks, changing things you love, letting go of attachment and trusting your own choices.

Do I have to stitch?

No. Stitching is an optional part of the exploration. You can use it if it feels right for your piece.

Do I have to follow the process exactly?

I’ll guide you through the journey, but there is no single right outcome. The intention is to notice, experiment and respond rather than reproduce a particular artwork.

What if I don’t know what I want to make?

Perfect. You don’t need to. You begin with a blank page and let the process lead you.
