Understanding Muted Colors

Colors in abstract paintings are more than just visual elements—they carry meaning, emotion, and symbolism. By tapping into the subtle power of muted colors, we create an intuitive palette that evokes feelings and depth without overwhelming the senses. When working with muted colors, we open up a world of subtlety, depth, and quiet emotion in […]

Letting Go of Emotional Triggers and Refocusing Your Energy

Lately, I’ve been observing something in myself very carefully. Not just the emotions themselves — but how long I stay inside them.

A comment. A misunderstanding. Someone not responding.
A moment of feeling unseen, hurt, dismissed, criticized, or emotionally activated.

The trigger itself may last only a few seconds. But the mind? The mind can continue the story for hours, days, sometimes even longer. And I’ve started realizing something important:

The emotional trigger is often not the biggest problem.
The bigger problem is how much energy I continue giving it afterward. How much attention I feed it.

Excellence vs Perfectionism: Healing a Life of Comparison and Returning to Yourself

Recently, I had a realization that felt too important not to write down.

I noticed that when I say a goal like ₹3 crore, my body reacts differently than when I say smaller numbers. My voice lowers. My energy contracts. Something inside me becomes cautious, almost as if I should not say it too loudly.

Day 21–40 of My 100 Day Art Journal Challenge

On 22nd February, we begin this year’s 100 day project.

But this time, I’m not chasing 100 finished pieces.

Instead, I’m creating a mixed media artist book — a space dedicated entirely to exploration, layering, and showing up daily without the pressure to perform.

If you’ve ever considered a 100 day art journal challenge but felt intimidated by perfectionism, this approach may feel softer. More sustainable. More honest.

Let me share how I’m doing it.

Creating Without Control: What I’m Beginning to Understand About Art, Life, and Staying With Myself

There’s a certain kind of truth that doesn’t come from books — it comes from living through things you didn’t choose. Unpredictability.Lack of emotional safety.Layers of conditioning that you didn’t consciously create. I recently came across a line by Kurt Vonnegut that stayed with me: “To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is

Collage Art Journal Pages: Creating 5 Layered Mixed Media Spreads

I’ve completed Days 1 to 50 of my 100-day book, and now I’ve turned the book around to begin the second half—Days 51 to 100.

In this post, I’m sharing how I created the cover pages of each booklet using collage papers, layering papers and fabrics, letting textures overlap, and then finishing each page with a small, quiet focal point.

Nothing too planned. Just responding to what’s in front of me.
