These exercises are perfect for warming up, playful exploration, and experimentation. We can work in a grid journaling format, on a loose sheet of A2, or inside a sketchbook. It’s helpful to make a list of the marks and techniques we enjoy, then return to those repeatedly. These three sequences are simply starting points. By doing them a few times, we will naturally discover which steps resonate with us and which ones we want to let go of.
